　　the American Revolution

　　不知道大家还记不记得上两期的内容，之前一直是美国独立战争前期的一些事件，其实还有很多东西可以再去细说，但是，我感觉再不进入独立战争这个主题，会掉粉的，主要是你们的阅读量说明了一切，这一期要讲波士顿倾茶事件后的The Intolerable Acts和First Continental Congress.

　　After The Boston Tea Party in 1773,the Britain government was very angry about the colonist’s action in Boston and the king had made a response to enacted The Intolerable Acts in 1774.As we can see from the name “intolerable”,it shows the king’s anger.The contents of the Intolerable Acts has five heavy acts:

　　<1>The Boston Port Bill: This act made the port of Boston closed on June 1, 1774, until the East India Company had been repaid for the destroyed tea and until the king was satisfied that order had been restored.(之前就是这个东印度公司垄断了茶叶市场sons of liberty才去倒他的茶，这下可好，使得垄断合法化了)

　　<2> The Massachusetts Government Act:Under the terms of the Government Act, almost all positions in the colonial government were to be appointed by the governor, Parliament, or king.(中央派人来管你们，曾经的自治政府该say goodbye)

　　<3> The Administration of Justice Act:allowed the Royal governor to order that trials of accused royal officials take place in Great Britain or elsewhere within the Empire if he decided that the defendant could not get a fair trial in Massachusetts.(华盛顿称这一法案为Murder Act，因为英国人可以在美国为非作歹，但是回到英国受审，既然都回国了，还会被定罪吗?)

　　<4>The Quartering Act:Based on the 1765’s Quartering Act,increased residents’ house.(你们对这个法案还有记忆吗?第一期有讲过哦。在之前的驻营条例的基础上，把个人的民居也增加，那么具体内容是什么?自己翻第一期去!!)

　　<5>The Quebec Act:The north of Philadelphia belong to Canada’s Quebec province and the official religion is Catholicism.(先不说把地盘分给加拿大管辖的问题，因为当时都是英国的，这个官方宗教为天主教，明显就是要在思想上重新管束住美国人。那为什么要定成天主教而不是清教或者新教呢?翻第二期去!)

　　这五条高压法令即为the Intolerable Acts，它们的颁布意义相当于英国人把自己的殖民地又变成了殖民地，有点绕口，但是确实就是这么一个理，类比我国清朝“两半”时期中国的西方列强殖民地，这些条例内容是不是越看越眼熟?

　　After the Intolerable Acts enacted,the American people’s rebellious spirit had been aroused completely.They are not British colonist anymore and became American from that moment on.(这就是我之前为什么一直把美国人成为North American colonist的原因)And then they gathered together in Philadelphia had a meeting called First Continental Congress in 1774.

　　First Continental Congress was a meeting of delegates from twelve of the thirteen colonies that met on September 5 to October 26, 1774 at Carpenters' Hallin Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.Georgia declined to send delegates because they were hoping for British assistance with Native American problems on their frontier and did not want to upset the British.The Congress met briefly to consider options, including an economic boycott of British trade; rights and grievances; and petitioned King George III for redress of those grievances.Although the first Continental Congress didn’t Propose the independent,it is still an important step for colony’s own regime.(美国国旗上的13颗星星指代的便是这最初的13个殖民地，美国的形成就是由着13个殖民地的联合而开始的，虽然Georgia对英国政府还抱有幻想没有参加第一次大陆会议。这次会议的重要意义在于，美国各殖民地开始联合起来和英国政府对着干了，虽然当时有也有亲英派在搅局，但是美国终于以一个整体开始和英国政府谈条件了)

　　其实不管美国历史还是中国历史还是世界历史，都是围绕着三件事情而发生的。第一是钱，第二是地盘(土地)，第三是宗教。我们把所有历史事件深入的剖析一下，所有事情的根本原因无外乎都是这三个。英国从确立了在北美的霸主地位后，开始给殖民地加重税，用加拿大蚕食美国殖民的地盘，还有之后专门给英国控制的的殖民地设置official religion,将美国人打压到忍无可忍，而且美国人民天生的那个自由和反抗精神在美国的独立上确实起了很大的作用，没有像其他英国殖民地选择接受英国的霸王条款。那么美国人在挣不到钱，地盘也快保不住的情况下，开始走上了独立的道路。下一期，将是特别重要的!是The first shot in Lexington,the second Continental Congress和1787 U.S. Constitution!

　　Intolerable:不可宽恕的

　　Restored：恢复

　　Defendant：被告方

　　Catholicism：天主教

　　Rebellious spirit：反抗精神

　　Arouse：引起，勾起

　　Frontier：边界

　　Petition：上诉，申诉

　　Redress：纠正

　　Grievances：不满

　　Regime：政权
