　　女权运动 Women’s Rights

　　Nikki K. One compelling illustration that somefailure always accompanies progress is demonstratedin the Women’s Rights movement. Around the1930s women started to question their role insociety. Why were women not allowed a say in thegovernment? Why couldn’t men and women possessthe same rights? During a protest in front of theWhite House, women were arrested and sent to aspecial prison. In order to become noticed, theNational Women’s Rights association In a literal sense sacrificed those who were arrested andreplaced them with more women. This process repeated itself until, Alice Paul, a Women’sRights leader, protested in front of the White House herself. She joined her comrades in theprison, where they were abused and mistreated. Finally once their mistreatment was exposedto the public, the President of the United States set them free and granted their wishes ofequality and rights. Their sacrifices were not in vain as the women were able to accomplishtheir goal and change the country forever.
