SAT语法主考单词和伴考单词

　　1. 对主考单词的要求:

　　(1) 我们先看一道填空题:

　　Far from viewing Jefferson as skeptical but enlightened intellectual, historians of the 1960’s portrayed him as _______ thinker, eager to fill the young with his political orthodoxy while censoring ideas he did not like.

　　A) an adventurous

　　B) a doctrinaire

　　C) an eclectic

　　D) a judicious

　　E) a cynical

　　这道题很多同学都错选E,是因为很多同学都这样记单词,cynical中文意思是犬儒主义,然后犬儒主义又似懂非懂,而且觉得这个答案比较亲切,比较面熟,就选了cynical.这显然是没有达到对主考单词掌握的程度,主考单词要求你对每一个单词除了知道中文意思之外,还要知道英文释义,并尽可能运用英文释义来记忆这个单词的应用场景.那么对于这几个单词,我们应该在以后的学习中达到这样的程度:

　　doctrinaire: certain that your beliefs or opinions are correct and unwilling to change them也是表示“教条的”，这种人的特点就是教科书的东西就是对的，而教科书外的东西都是错的.所以挺符合这道题的意境.

　　cynical: believing the worst of human nature and motives.

　　我们人可能都有cynical的时候，特别是高中生升学压力大，然后某段时间呢，正好从班级第二一下子考了四十多名，而且这时你又诸事不顺，去吃饭丢钱包，做公交被嘲笑，于是你就开始批判这个社会，开始无理由的埋怨你的家庭，毫无理由的发脾气，注意这时你可能处在cynical的境地。

　　(2)我们再看一道阅读题目

　　OG-592-16

　　I am not an adept aesthetician, and I could not presume to analyze Martha’s sense of design or approach toward design. But I believe she dealt with the elements of line and direction with the instincts of a mathematician or physicist, adding to each their emotional relations.

　　Disclaimer：a refusal to confirm the truth of a statement 否认 注意 could not presume to表示不敢妄加…的意思，所以很对应disclaimer。Assertion是个很简单的单词，但而且情景也很简单。这里I am not, I could not presume to-----disclaimer;I believe---- assertion

　　2.对伴考单词的要求

　　伴考单词一般不会影响你做题,但会影响你理解文章,从而使你无法快速的解题.所以如果你伴考单词也掌握的很熟练的话,那么你做题的速度还有对文章理解的准确程度马上就上来了,可以说只有益处没有坏处.

　　但对伴考单词的要求不像主考单词那么高,要求掌握道非常精微的程度,对伴考单词你只要知道意思即可.

　　如下面的这个例子:

　　OG-865

As I passed him, his teeth loudly chattered in his head, and with every mark of extreme humiliation, he prostrated himself in the dust.

　　我们看一下Trabby’s boy这个家伙的一系列动作,都是伴考单词

　　smote 猛然弯曲; stagger 蹒跚; paroxysm 发作; prostrate 扑倒

　　如果你知道这些单词的意思,无疑会让你更形象的理解好这段文章,而且很有利于后面一个题目的解决.

　　With a shock he became aware of me, and was severely visited as before.

　　Question: In context, the word “visited” most nearly means

　　called on

　　shared an experience with

　　resided temporarily with

　　haunted

　　afflicted

　　你如果理解好了这个情景,那么这个单词题是非常容易的,因为这一系列动作都印在你脑子里了.
