　　TASK 1

　　Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? One of the best ways to learn about a country’s culture is to watch television shows made in that country.

　　Sample Answer

　　Well, I will definitely not choose to learn a local culture through watching its TV show.

　　Firstly, television shows are usually designed for entertainment, so they may not accurately reflect real-life situations. Some dramas and comedies often exaggerate or simplify cultural aspects to appeal to the audience. For example, a comedy show might stereotype certain behaviors for funny effect, which can lead to misunderstanding about the culture.

　　Additionally, to truly understand a culture, I’ll choose to travel to that country. You know, because in this way I’ll have an opportunity to interact with local people, and experience daily life firsthand. For example, I can participate in local festivals or have dinners with local families. These experiences can provide personal interactions and insights that television shows can’t. I think this is a better way to experience the culture and the traditions of that place.

　　Reading: Discount on local restaurant(学校让local restaurants为学生提供discount。)

　　Point 1：一是可以benefit students;

　　Point 2: 二是可以benefit restaurants，motivate more students to eat。

　　听力

　　Conversation: Man agrees

　　Reason 1: 现在学生吃cafeteria感觉bored. 学生想去Restaurant吃，可是太贵了, not affordable，所以没有太多choices. 如果有discount, 学生就可以吃a variety of food.

　　Reason 2: 现在restaurants生意不好，即使meal time也很空，难以维持生意，有些甚至倒闭。小镇人少，其中学生占了一大半人口。如果学生有折扣，他们更愿意尝试新餐馆。即使学生不付全款，也有利于餐馆经营。

　　TASK 3

　　阅读

　　Cognitive Overlapping

　　定义：人们会忽略两件事的相同点和共同的好处

　　听力

　　Lecture： Psychology(商业)

　　例子：听力说教授的女儿假期参加French project后悔没有camping，但是想到这俩带来的好处差不多，就feel better.

　　TASK 4

　　Lecture题材：Biology (生物类)

　　主题: two different ways insects use pheromones to communicate (Pheromone - 信息素-昆虫分泌以刺激同种昆虫之化合物质)

　　Way 1：通过使用信息素find their way back

　　eg. Bee

　　Way 2：使用Pheromones来传递mating signal

　　eg. Moth 蛾
