主题：学生上音乐课学习乐器(instrument instruction)是否值得。
1. 太消耗时间(time)。学一个小时音乐就少一个小时做数学练习的时间，应该把时间放在更重要的科目上比如数学和语言(math and language)。	1. 学习音乐对学习数学和语言有帮助。比如，了解音符(note)的长短，可以帮助学习分数(fraction);音乐的变化表达了含义的变化，这与语言学习是相似的。
2. 太消耗钱(expense)。学校有很多的地方需要用钱，如果开设这个课程，既要付老师的工资，又要给学生买乐器，太贵。	2. 学校可以尝试一些有创意的方式(creative ways)，学校可以邀请一些志愿者(volunteer)来教课，这样对学校来说是零成本(no cost)。同时，学校买的乐器可以便宜租给学生，这样学生不必花钱，学校也可以收回一些成本(get some money back)。
3. 太消耗精力(effort)。不是所有学生毕业之后都能做专业音乐家，大部分学生是没有天赋的。那些有天赋的学生只学这些内容也不够，还是需要再额外学私教课。	3. 人们的音乐天赋是没有被完全发掘出来的(not fully developed)，通过学习这些基本音乐知识可以作为补充。学校不只是要让学生找到好工作，还要让他们的人生更丰盈充实(full and rich life)。

　　We have been discussing some cases related to government decision-making. Last week, I read a newspaper, and the headline attracted my attention: “Suburban Town Should Not Force the Cyclists to wear Helmet”. Do you agree or disagree with this opinion? Why?

　　I support the removal of helmet regulations for cyclists. Wearing a helmet is cumbersome and inconvenient, discouraging people from cycling altogether. Removing this requirement would likely encourage more people to choose cycling as a mode of transportation, promoting healthier and more environmentally friendly lifestyles.

　　Paul:

　　People should consider the implications of this policy. It's important to adhere to government regulations for safety reasons. Helmet laws are in place to protect cyclists from head injuries in case of accidents. So, even though some may view the removal of helmet regulations as promoting freedom, helmets keep you safe.

　　I totally disagree with the idea of abolishing the helmet-wearing regulation because it may cause potential risks. When making a decision, the priority of the governments is to ensure the safety of citizens. And wearing a helmet is a must when it comes to riding a bike since it can provide cyclists with a basic protective measure when dangers occur. Take my brother as an example. He went on a trip by bike with his friends to explore the natural beauty of the countryside last month. He did not wear the helmet because he thought it would be rather safe for cyclists on that road. However, he fell down due to a stone in the middle of the road which he did not notice and hurt his head seriously. With my brother bleeding a lot, his friends had to cancel the trip and send him to the hospital. But if he had worn the helmet before setting out, he would have avoided the accident. Therefore, helmets are of great importance to people who travel by bike.
