  2.人工巢穴: conservationists(环保主义者)可以在公园里设置蝙蝠箱。

Your professor is teaching a class on urban planning. Write a post responding to the professor’s question.

  In your response, you should

  · express and support your personal opinion

  · make a contribution to the discussion in your own words

An effective response will contain at least 100 words. You have ten minutes to write.

Doctor Achebe:In the next few weeks, we'll be talking about urban traffic management. Let's begin by discussing one popular idea-creating car-free central zones. Some cities around the world have recently designated their downtown areas as being automobile-free, which means that vehicles are not allowed to enter the city centers. Do you think that more cities should make their central zones car-free? Why or why not?

Kelly:I support the idea of establishing car-free central zones because this will result in one important benefit for city residents-it will be better for their health. Instead of driving everywhere. people will be encouraged to walk or cycle more. It would be a great way to incorporate exercise into people's routines.

Paul:It sounds like a good idea, but I'm skeptical. My main concern is that many businesses located in the city centers, such as shops and restaurants, may suffer because the customers will no longer be able to reach those businesses by car. For some customers, if they can't drive, they won't go at all.

Your professor is teaching a class on education. Write a post responding to the professor’s question.

  In your response, you should

  · express and support your personal opinion

  · make a contribution to the discussion in your own words

An effective response will contain at least 100 words. You have ten minutes to write.

Doctor Achebe:This week, we discussed the role of technology in society. One idea we discussed was access to mobile (cell) phones across different age groups. It seems that almost everyone has a phone these days. In your opinion, what are the positive or negative effects of parents allowing their children under the age of 12 to have their own mobile phones? Why do you think so?

Kelly:One positive effect is that phones help keep children busy. Since phones often include different applications that can help entertain children, they will never feel bored because of having nothing to do. In fact, children these days are usually engaged in playing fun, interesting games on their phones all the time, which is better than being bored.

Paul:Children should not have access to mobile phones until they are in their teens: these phones may do them more harm than good. Not knowing the potential damage that can be caused by spending too much time looking at their phone screens, children sometimes negatively affect their health. For example, by straining their eyes or making them tired.

I believe children under the age of 12 should not be allowed to own a phone. This is because young children, especially those under 12, often lack self-control. When faced with a virtual world, they could easily become obsessed with their phones, which would hamper their physical development. For example, when my nephew was 10 years old, he was given a smartphone. The first time he saw the well-designed games, fashionable idols, and platforms where he could comment on whatever he like, he quickly indulged himself in it and spent time he might otherwise playing football with friends or constructing a Lego building. However, half a year later, he became nearsighted and began to wear glasses, which has been a lifelong problem for him. Therefore, I hold the view that children under 12 should not possess a phone.
