主题：城市举办大型比赛是否有好处

1. First, the flow of money that will come into the city that hosts the event can be tremendous. Thousands of tourists will travel to the city especially for the event. These visitors will spend money in hotels, shops, and restaurants, and on tickets for the event. Economists then add what's called the multiplying effect to this spending to compute how the influx of money will benefit the community. For example, when a tourist books a hotel room, all the workers supported by the hotel, such as food servers and cleaners, will benefit, and they in turn will spend more money in their city.

1. First, cities don't necessarily get extra income from visitors coming for the events. The major cities that host these events attract plenty of tourists and business people at all times. Tourists who come for the sporting event are just replacing the usual visitors who couldn't come because they were unable to find hotel rooms in the city. And as for the money spent on tickets. Well, most of that money goes to the event organizers. The organizers are typically large companies that come from some other city to organize the event. And when the event is over, they take their profits with them.

2. Second, such events generate positive publicity for the city, which is an intangible but extremely valuable benefit. The increased attention from people all over the world that the event brings can serve as a kind of advertising to show off what the city has to offer. This enhances the city's reputation and inspires a greater interest in the city.

2. Hoping that the event will generate good publicity can be a risky strategy. One city in the united states was hosting the super bowl. Now, this city almost never gets significant snowfall, but during that week, there was an unexpected snowstorm. The city was not prepared to deal with the snow, and tourists who had come for the event experienced a lot of problems getting around the city. When the tourists were later asked to give their opinions about the city. Their opinions were extremely negative. The event, in effect, brought negative publicity for the city.

3. Third, hosting such events often prompts cities to invest in new buildings and infrastructure to accommodate the massive numbers of expected visitors. For example, some cities prepare for a big sporting event by building state-of-the-art sports facilities, most of which can be used and enjoyed by city residents long after the event is over and the visitors have left.

　　Paul: I prefer studying alone because it lets me focus completely without distractions. For example, when I study by myself, I can tailor my pace and methods to what works best for me. Group settings sometimes slow me down or veer off-topic. While collaboration has benefits, I find solo studying more efficient, especially when preparing for exams or tackling challenging subjects.

In contrast, if I study in a group at a café, while discussing different math problems with classmates, the background noise, people coming and going, and the vibrant atmosphere could make it harder to concentrate. Therefore, studying alone should be a choice if students want to learn effectively.
