　　TASK 1

　　Some people think that schools should assign projects and other work for students to complete over vacation, before the beginning of the school year. Others think that schoolwork should only be assigned during the actual academic year. Which opinion do you agree with?

　　Sample Answer

　　Well, I think schoolwork should only be assigned during the semester.

　　The main reason is that students are already under a lot of academic pressure throughout the semester, so they need to unwind during the vacation. If they hang out with their friends, go traveling with their parents during the vacation, they would get to recharge for the next semester. In that case, they would become more refreshed and energetic. However, if they have assignments to finish, they will feel pressured and overwhelmed and become less motivated in the following academic year.

　　Second, the break between semesters is the perfect timing for students to explore their own interests. They can film their vlogs, learn how to cook or do some stuff like that.

　　一个学生和以前的教授很熟悉，他们经常去意大利餐馆吃饭。他决定和新来的教授和以前的教授一起去吃个饭。他很清晰地跟新来的教授讲餐馆的位置以及约定的时间，跟以前的教授只说了去经常去的餐馆。新来的教授准时出现在餐馆，但是熟悉的以前教授却去了另外一家餐馆。

　　TASK 4

　　主题：how animals preserve food

　　方法1：在食物变质之前dry out。

　　例子：因为细菌容易生长，松鼠会把食物放在树上晒干。

　　方法2：cold environment 因为温度低细菌也不生长。

　　例子：冬天河狸(beaver)把tree branch放在水里，想吃的时候就取。
