　　TASK 1

　　Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The best way to teach children how to behave is to praise their good behavior rather than to criticize their bad behavior. Use details and examples to support your opinion.

　　Sample Answer

　　Well, personally, I think it's much better to give kids praise when they behave well rather than constantly pointing out their mistakes.

　　The main reason is that when you praise a child for doing something well, it makes them feel good about themselves, which is never a bad thing. This kind of positive reinforcement would motivate kids to keep doing the right things. Let’s say if a kid is praised for taking out the trash, he would have more motivation to do more small jobs around the house like to do laundry or wash the dishes.

　　On the other hand, if you keep criticizing kids’ bad behavior, it can really hurt their self- esteem. They might start feeling like they can't do anything right, and that's not good for their emotional well-being.

　　定义：一种动物使用的defensive strategy where an animal might create an object that looks like it to attract the attention of potential predators。

　　例子：一种Spider in New Zealand

　　蜘蛛大多时候都在自己的webs上面，那么就会vulnerable to birds and other predators。这种蜘蛛就会collect long and thin leaves, 等到这些叶子干了，颜色变成light brown，看起来就像是蜘蛛的腿。整张网上都是这种leaf arrangements，然后蜘蛛会sits somewhere else in the web，当鸟attack the leaves instead of the spider，spider就有机会escape。

　　TASK 4

　　Lecture题材：Archaeology (考古)

　　主题: Two ways archaeologists may locate a site by looking for certain signs.

　　Way 1：One sign archeologists look for is certain surface features of the land that suggest that the land may have been altered in some way by people in the past.

　　eg. New Zealand在百年前的人在山顶建了一些villages;它们在山上雕刻了giant steps，主要用于defense 和 protection;所以考古学家可以通过look for giant steps来locate settlements.

　　Way 2：通过观察plant life来locate settlement;

　　Eg. Central America的人曾经种植过一种Bread Nut Tree;因为这种树的seeds可以被食用，这些树繁衍至今，考古学家就可以通过bread nut trees生长的地方来决定where to dig for artifacts from these people。
